An April Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell and Lance Creek Formations. This is an excellent horn with detail preserved with good color and natural patina. Great surface articulation. You can see the natural blood grooves around the surface of the horn. The preparation of the horn was fairly basic and simple with minor crack repair and minor restoration (<10%). It comes with the custom steel stand as shown. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for three horns and the large frill protecting its neck. A complete nasal horn. This is an excellent nasal horn with good detail preserved. You can see the natural blood grooves around the surface of the horn and the skull bone is attached to the rear of the horn. The base of this horn shows great articulation of the skull  bone. There is some crack fill and minor restoration (<10%). It comes with a sturdy custom steel stand as shown.
