This megatooth shark lived during the late Oligocene and Miocene. The Chubutensis teeth exhibits small cutting edge "bumps" at the base of the crown which are remnants of side cusps that completely disappear with the Megalodon shark teeth. Highest quality enamel. There are no hydrations cracks in the enamel! Excellent color! The bourlette is multi-colored, looks nice, and is 100% complete. The serrations are large and razor sharp - 100% complete. Tip serration is very sharp. Exceptional serrations! The root is an excellent light tan color and complete with no hydration cracks. The root also exhibits grooves on the root ends. This Chubutensis was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, NC (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA).
