  2. Carcharocles megalodon - Caribbean

    A GEM, 5-13/16" ULTRA RARE Caribbean Megalodon tooth - an upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. A March 2019 Fossil of the Month offering. This Megalodon tooth has an incredible light creamy tan colored crown with light charcoal gray patterning. Highest quality enamel with very small hydration cracks. Exceptional color! The bourlette is large and perfect. The serrations are razor sharp including the big tip serration. Excellent serrations for a big Meg! The root is an excellent creamy tan color with no hydration cracks. An extra wide root (4-13/16" wide). Great symmetry. Note - two small areas of serrations on the left side of the tooth were damaged and professionlly restored. The damaged area was restricted to thetooth  edge only. You can see the charcoal gray patterning patterning extending to the edge of the enamel. Otherwise, a near perfect tooth. This Megalodon was found in a limestone quarry in the Caribbean (Miocene age). This is an incredible, massive 5-13/16" Caribbean Meg tooth. One of finest examples of an ultra rare Caribbean Megalodon tooth that I have seen considering the shape, color, and preservation. An exceptional collector's XL Megalodon tooth! A March 2019 Fossil of the MonthThis ULTRA RARE Great White transition tooth measures 2-5/8" - a BIG upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. Also note that this is an ultra rare Carcharodon hubbelli with full serrations at the base of the cutting edge that transition to fine serrations at mid crown and disappear towards the tip.
