    An ULTRA RARE, 5-13/16"  Caribbean Megalodon tooth - an upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. A March 2019 Fossil of the Month offering. This Megalodon tooth has an incredible light creamy tan colored crown with light charcoal gray patterning. Highest quality enamel with very small hydration cracks. Exceptional color! The bourlette is large and perfect. The serrations are razor sharp including the big tip serration. Excellent serrations for a big Meg! The root is an excellent creamy tan color with no hydration cracks. An extra wide root (4-13/16" wide). Great symmetry. There are two small areas of serrations on the left side of the tooth were damaged and professionlly restored. The damaged area was restricted to the tooth edge only. You can see the charcoal gray patterning patterning extending to the edge of the enamel. Otherwise, a near perfect tooth. Note - See final two photos for marked area of repair and a prior to repair photo. CA01 is an excellent Meg tooth.This Megalodon was found in a limestone quarry in the Caribbean (Miocene age).
