    A rare Top Quality Triceratops horridus dorsal vertebra from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. An April Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation which is known for three horns and a large frill protecting its neck. This is a dorsal vertebra with exceptional detail preserved with good color and patina. Complete specimen. You can see the vertebra surface is very rugous with a very round centra which are characteristics of Triceratops and distinguishes it from a Hadrosaur. Triceratops bones are more difficult to find. This specimen has some cracks filled. No restoration. It is extremely rare to find vertebra that are complete. Legally collected on private land in Harding Co., South Dakota. It comes with the stand (oak base) as shown. A fantastic fossil overall for display. Authenticity guaranteed. An excellent big Triceratops vertebra.     A rare, EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality CLASSIC Chile Megalodon tooth from the phophate layer, Bahia Inglesa Fm., Caldera area, Chile. An April Fossil of the Month.  A gorgeous light tan colored crown with no enamel peel. Highest quality enamel. The bourlette is an excellent orange & brown color and nearly complete. The serrations are razor sharp with a good tip and nearly complete. The root is excellent dark red-brown color with excellent articulation, extra large, and 100% complete. Root is 5-1/16" wide and 1.5'' thick. Tooth weighs 1 lb and 6 oz. This is a massive tooth.  Note - root hydration cracks were filled plus two nearby spots of the bourlette were touched up.
