A TOP QUALITY, Lee Creek Carcharocles chubutensis, a C. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. A posterior tooth. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). Note the crown exhibits large cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge and the root ends also show grooves where the teeth interlocked. These are characteristic traits of the Lee Creek early Meg - C. chubutensis. A gorgeous tan colored crown with an excellent brown bourlette. Great serrations. A rare EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality Heterodontus dorsal spine - the Horn shark from the Sharktooth Hill area, near Bakersfield, California. This big spine specimen is still attached to its original Round Mountain silt matrix with a 2-1/4" whale ear bone. These Heterodontus spines only occasionally fossilize and they are quite rare. A VERY RARE, LARGE Top Quality, Leptoceratops gracilis "spitter"  tooth from the late Cretaceous of western North America. Leptoceratops is a smaller "ceratopsian" dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance formations. There small size and small horns made them relatively easy prey and their population size was quite small compared to other herbivores. The enamel is high quality with nice color and patina.
