A LARGE, Top Quality Edmontosaurus annectens toe from the late Cretaceous of North America. An August Fossil of the Month. Edmontosaurus is a very large hadrosaur or "duck-bill" dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation. This is a non-associated set of toe bones from the outer toe (toe II - see diagram), and it consists of two toe bones (Phalanx 1 & 2) and a pes hoof core (ungual). Bone quality is excellent. These pieces are a perfect fit including a very good pes ungual. No restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Hell Creek Fm., Garfield Co., Montana. A Top Quality, Ultra Rare Pachychephalosaurus wyomingensis node cluster from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Pachychephalosaurus is the dinosaur which is famous for its large domed head surrounded by these spikes and nodes. These spikes and nodes were part of the skull. This is a node cluster with a large node surrounded by a group of smaller nodes. This node cluster has excellent color / patina with exceptional surface articulation. The blood grooves are still present in the bone. It is a complete specimen with no cracks or breaks. Note - the excellent articulated skull surface on the base of the node. Legally collected on private land in the Hell Creek Fm., Powder River Co., Montana. An excellent and very rare collector's quality Pachychephalosaurus node cluster. A rare LARGE, Top Quality adult Anzu wyliei metatarsal toe bone from the Hell Creek Fm. of Montana. Anzu is referred to as the "Chicken from Hell". An execllent metatarsal bone. Big and heavy. Excellent brown color and patina. This specimen has very good overall perservation. A complete specimen with some natural crushing on the rear side and minor crack fill. This specimen has good perservation with minor erosion. There is a very small tip repair whic is common. A quality, collector's claw from the JUdith River of Montana. A rare Top Quality Edmontosaurus annectens lower jaw from the late Cretaceous of North America. This lower jaw (dentary) section is ~75% complete - missing the very back of the jaw which eroded away. The delicate front of the jaw is 100% complete. Edmontosaurus is a very large hadrosaur or "duck-bill" dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation. They possessed ~300 teeth that were in columns of five teeth each which acted as conveyor belt to maintain a large chewing surface to cut and grind their food. Note - the three in the first photo were found with this jaw and they are placed. There are a couple of small teeth that are still attached to the jaw. Bone quality and color iis very good. Cracks are stabilized in this jaw. No restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Hell Creek Fm., Harding Co., So. Dakota. A rare Top Quality Triceratops horridus hoof core (pes claw) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. An October Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for three horns and a large frill protecting its neck. This adult hoof core has exceptional detail preserved and excellent color & patina. Complete specimen. Note - Triceratops hoof cores are generally smaller than Hadrosaur, have a very rugous surface, have a characteristeristic "shallow ledge" on the under side, have less height than Hadrosaur, and are much more difficult to find. This hoof core has all of the correct features is is incredibly preserved. There is a small repair to the right hoof "wing" end. Legally collected on private land in Carter Co., Montana.
