A GEM Quality, Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - upper jaw tooth. A February Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon has an incredible light blue & tan colored crown with an excellent dark brown bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Exceptional colorand color contrast! The serrations are razor sharp with an excellent tip. The root is an excellent light brown color with a very small hydration crack and complete. This Megalodon was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA). An excellent tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine! No repair or restoration. There is a strong posterior profile curve which a distinguishes this species. Great preservation withn sharp serrations and an excellent red color.
