A rare, Top Quality Triceratops horridus epoccipital (frill ornament) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation which is known for three horns and a large frill protecting its neck. This epoccipital has excellent detail preserved and great color / patina. The epoccipitals were triangular bone ornaments that lined the top of the frill. The young Triceratops had narrow and tall epoccipitals, older juvenile Triceratops had low and wide epoccipitals, and adult Triceratops no longer had this ornament. You can see this epoccipital is narrow which is a characteristic of an younger juvenile Triceratops. An ultra rare Big, Top Quality Tyrannosaurus rex tooth from a large adult Rex. A July 2020 Fossil of the Month. This stocky Rex crown measures 3-5/8" (straight line) and is thick for its size (1-1/4"). The enamel is highest quality. Great rich dark chocolate brown and black color. Excellent serrations on the anterior and posterior serrations. Note - There is no wear facet at the tip and this tooth is serrated to the tip (a recently erupted BIG tooth - rare). A HUGE, High Quality Tyrannosaurus rex tooth from a very large adult Rex. A June 2020 Fossil of the Month. This massive Rex crown measures 4-9/16" (straight up) or 4-7/8" (straight line) or 5"+ (on curve) and has a big root (2" Wide). The enamel is good quality with some root etchings and natural cracks. Good brown color. The serrations are worn, but visible. The tip is good. Cracks are stabilized with some crack fill. No breaks - possibly one. A natural tooth from a BIG Rex! The C. hubbelli is an evolutionary transition from the non-serrated big-tooth Mako shark to the fully serrated Great White shark which takes place in the late Miocene period. An ultra rare, TOP QUALITY, Megalodon - upper jaw anterior tooth from West Java, Indonesia - new site.  This Megalodon has an incredible dark tan color and an excellent orange - brown colored bourlette. An ultra rare, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi, a complete whorl with three crowns from Herrin, Illinois. A July Fossil of the Month. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamp that our now underground coal deposits. Exceptional preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically with linear tooth whorls. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. This whorl is incredibly massive at 6" long with three crowns. The whorl body is well perserved with an excellent bright line of pyrite below the crown enamel. The crowns are large at 1-5/8" wide and look fantastic. Note - One crown tip has a small professional repair (~1/8") which is very common for a whorl. Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. A Top Quality Paronychodon lacustris tooth from Montana. A theropod from the Troodonidae family. These teeth are recurved, flat, with strong longitudinal grooves running the length of the crown.
