An Ultra Rare Pappocetus lugardi (Andrews, 1920) canine tooth from Morocco. Pappocetus was in the Protocetidae family of ancient whales . Note - this tooth is a canine with a large natural wear facet. This material is a new find and represents one of the earliest transition forms of the whale. Pappocetus is a protocetid (see discussion below) and a large amphibious aquatic carnivore. An EXTRA LARGE, TOP QUALITY Mosasaurus beaugei tooth from the Cretaceous of Morocco. Excellent preservation. Note - the well defined ridges running the length of the crown - a M. beaugei characteristic. This massive specimen has an excellent wide cross-section. No repair or restoration.This is one of the more difficult of the large Mosasaur species to find. An excellent collector's Mosasaur tooth. Authenticity guaranteed.

A TOP QUALITY Megalonyx leptostomus sloth claw from an extinct genus of giant ground sloths and our December 2017 Fossil of the Month. This claw has excellent preservation and shows little water wear. It's complete down to a nice tip with absolutely no restoration or repair. Excellent preservation of the proximal end. There is a little eriosion on the top of the claw. A wonderful Late Pliocene - Early Pleistocene display piece from northern Florida. Authenticity guaranteed. One of my favorites!

A "Flying" TOP QUALITY Walliserops trifurcatus trilobite, the "trident Comura".  A November Fossil of the Month and one of the collector's favorite spiny trilobites. Walliserops trifurcatus is an unusual looking species with three rows of of spines run down its back and a trident-like fork extending from the front of the cephalon. The preparation is German controlled with all original colors and no restoration. Exceptional completeness and preservation. Great natural black shell with excellent luster. The bottom of this trilobite has been cleaned out and it sits on an 1" matrix pedestal. A very difficult species to prepare. Excellent shell and spine preservation. Compound eyes are very good. A rare, TOP QUALITY Megatherium americanum sloth claw from an extinct genus of giant ground sloths from the Pampean region, Uruguay. A March Fossil of the Month. Megatherium is from the family of the largest Ground sloths. This claw has excellent preservation. It is complete down to an excellent tip with essentially no restoration or repair. There appears to be a 1.5” area of the top of the sheath rim on the back side that may have minor restoration (see photo - a small area). Excellent preservation of the proximal end. Note – the molars demonstrate how massive Pappocetus teeth compared to the later primitive whales!  The root thickness doubles on one side and the crown gains depth as well. A beautifully prepared, GEM QUALITY Comura bultyncki trilobite. The collector's favorite spiny trilobite. An April Fossil of the Month. A very rare, TOP QUALITY Hainosaurus tooth, a Tylosaur mosasaur, from the Cretaceous of Khouribga, Morocco. This mosasaur is a recent discovery and genus naming. The teeth appear to be quite rare. Note - the well defined posterior hook at the top of the crown - a Hainosaurus characteristic. This specimen has a wear facet on the anterior edge of the crown and it has been cracked. This is the most difficult of the Mosasaur species to find. An excellent collector's Mosasaur tooth. Authenticity guaranteed.

A Top Quality Triceratops horridus nasal horn section from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. A September Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for three horns and the large frill protecting its neck. A complete nasal horn. This is an exceptional nasal horn with excellent detail preserved. You can see all of the natural blood grooves around the surface of the horn and the skull bone is attached to the rear of the horn. A Top Quality, Triceratops horridus brow horn from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. A May Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek Formation. This is a special horn with exceptional detail preserved and excellent color & natural patina. Fantastic surface articualtion. You can see all of the natural blood grooves around the surface of the horn. Plus this horn includes most of the orbital which is quite rare - a very complete specimen. The preparation of the horn was fairly basic and simple - some minor crack fill and approximately 1" of the tip end was restored which is very minimal restoration for a horn. This is not a horn that is 20 - 30% or more putty which you most often see. It comes with a custom steel stand as shown. A fantastic fossil overall for display.
