"The Twist"  A rare Top Quality PATHOLOGIC Auriculatus tooth from Harleyville, So. Carolina.  An incredible twisted tooth. An EXTRA LARGE, pyrite replaced Paraspirifer bownockeri brachiopod from the Silica Shale Fm., Sylvania, Ohio. Brachiopods are bivalve molluscs, and this is a big one. Both valves present  - complete specimen and matrix free. Note -  1-1/4" thick and heavy! This is a Devonian (395 mya) brachiopod. The big Silica Fm. brachiopod. An ultra rare, top quality 5-5/8" Sharktooth Hill Megalodon tooth. A location that produces very few large Megalodon teeth and one of the toughest Megs to locate. A High Quality Thescelosaurus neglectus pes ungual (foot claw) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Thescelosaurus is a mid-sized dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation. This claw is excellent quality with excellent color / patina. One crack is stabilized and the very end of the "wings" (the flat ledge below the blood groove) were filled for aesthetics - about a 1/16". Note - Thesc unguals are described as flat triangles.(see Thesc-Pachy claw differentiation discussion below). No restoration. A TOP QUALITY, Lee Creek Otodus chubutensis, a O. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). Note the crown exhibits cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge and the root ends also show grooves where the teeth interlocked. These are characteristic traits of the Lee Creek early Meg - Otodus chubutensis. A gorgeous blue & tan colored crown with a brown bourlette. Great serrations. The root is tancolored and complete.
