An ultra rare, early Otodus aksuaticus upper jaw, lateral tooth from western Kazakhstan. A transition tooth leading to C. auriculatus (see detailed discussion below). A May 2019 Fossil for the Month. The bourlette is large and complete. Exhibits small serrations along the lower 2/3 of the crown and weakly serrated side cusps with very irregular serrations. A TOP QUALITY, EXTRA LARGE & very rare Archaeocete whale, Zygorhiza kochii. Our November Fossil of the Month is a highly desirable Zygorhiza molar or "yoke" tooth.  An exceptional light brown colored crown and tan root. Nicely articulated. Complete root. This tooth has minimal repair to 2nd & 4th cusp on the left side and a small amount to the 4th cusp on the right side. A natural Hoploscaphites nodosus ammonite and a Nautilus (Eutrephoceras) with excellent preservation of the shell material. A December Fossil of the Month. This ammonite species exhibits big ribs with large tubercles (nodes). Both ammonites are nicely displayed on their original Pierre Shale matrix with a flat base. Matrix size is 4.5" x 2.5".
