A TOP QUALITY, 5-3/4" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth from Aurora, No. Carolina. A May Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon has an incredible light tan colored crown with a large brown colored bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Fantastic color! The crown is very wide (4-9/16") - incredible! The bourlette is excellent, extra large and 99% perfect. The serrations are razor sharp with an excellent tip serration (they will cut your hand). Super serrations for a larger Meg tooth - razor sharp! The root is an excellent tan color with small hydration cracks and complete. This Megalodon was found in the Yorktown Formation, Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina (Pliocene age = 4.5 MYA). An EXTRA LARGE, TOP QUALITY, classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth (predecessor of Megalodon) - upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth. Another December 2017 Fossil fo the Month.This Chubutensis has an incredible light gray colored crown with fades to a golden tan. The bourlette is essentially complete and a great light brown color. Highest quality enamel with a no hydration cracks. Exceptional color! The serrations are razor sharp - near perfect with a needle-like tip serration. The root is an excellent light tan color and absolutely complete. This Chubutensis was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, NC (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA). NO repair! A GEM, Lee Creek Carcharocles chubutensis, a C. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. This tooth was given the name the "Oreo Chub" with its black and white bourlette. Very rare colors for Lee Creek. A May Fossil of the Month. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). Note the crown exhibits large cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge and the root ends also show grooves where the teeth interlocked. These are characteristic traits of the Lee Creek early Meg - C. chubutensis. A gorgeous tan &  blue colored crown with an incredible black & white bourlette. Fantastic serrations with a nearly perfect with damage to one. The root is dark brown with small hydration cracks. Highest quality enamel! Excellent color! No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed. I have only seen one LC Chub like this one -  the "Oreo Chub" is a Lee Creek rarity!
