A GEM, 6-3/16" ULTRA RARE Caribbean Megalodon tooth - an upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. Our January 2019 Fossil of the Month offering. This Megalodon tooth has an incredible light creamy tan colored crown with interesting light charcoal gray patterning. Highest quality enamel with no hydration cracks. Exceptional color! The bourlette is large and perfect. The serrations are razor sharp including the big tip serration. Excellent serrations for a big Meg! The root is an excellent creamy tan color with no hydration cracks. An extra wide root (4-7/8" wide). Great symmetry. Note - the serrations on the right side of the tooth were damaged and professionlly restored. The damaged area was restricted to the edge only. You can see the charcoal gray patterning patterning extending to the edge of the enamel. Otherwise, a perfect tooth. This Megalodon was found in a limestone quarry in the Caribbean (Miocene age). This is an incredible, massive 6-3/16" Caribbean Meg tooth. One of finest examples of an ultra rare Caribbean Megalodon tooth that I have seen considering the shape, color, and preservation. A TOP QUALITY, Classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth - upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth. Highest quality enamel. Excellent color! The bourlette is excellent and perfect. The root is an excellent light tan color with essentially no hydration cracks, very wide, and absolutely complete. Also note the interesting small side cusps - a Miocene Megalodon predecessor trait. A rare, Top Quality ~5" CLASSIC Chile Megalodon tooth from the sand layer, Bahia Inglesa Fm., Caldera area, Chile. A March Fossil of the Month. An excellent light tan colored crown with no enamel peel. Good quality enamel. The bourlette has a nice mahogany brown color and is 100% complete. The serrations are sharp with some damage. The root is excellent tan color and extra wide with a small sliver of damage on the side of the root. Good "eye appeal". Great symmetry. No repair or restoration. A rare Top Quality, BIG CLASSIC Chile Megalodon tooth from the phosphate layer, Bahia Inglesa Fm., Caldera area, Chile. This tooth is nicely displayed on its original phosphorite matrix. Note - the pebbly phosphorite makes an interesting base which elevates the tip about 15 degress for a great display.
