A GEM Lee Creek Carcharocles chubutensis, the C. megalodon tooth predecessor - upper jaw Principal Anterior tooth. It has an incredible tan colored crown with an exceptional tan bourlette. The enamel is the highest possible quality with no hydration cracks (extremely rare for a good sized tooth). The bourlette is fantastic and 100% complete. No enamel peel. The serrations are extra large and razor sharp and perfect. The root is an excellent light gray color, extra wide, and complete. The root ends also show grooves where they could interlock. An early Miocene trait. This early Megalodon ancestor was found in the Lee Creek mine (early to middle Miocene age = 15 MYA). Note the crown exhibits large cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge. A characteristic trait of the C. chubutensis. The perfect Lee Creek Chubutensis. An exceptional collector's tooth. NO repair! The PERFECT Lee Creek Chubutensis! The BEST of the BEST!
