Sharktooth Hill Fossil Shark Teeth

An ultra rare, top quality 5-1/8" Sharktooth Hill Megalodon tooth found in the Round Mountain Silt near Bakersfield, California. A location that produces very few Megalodon teeth and one of the toughest Megs to locate. An October Fossil of the Month.  This Megalodon tooth has the highest quality enamel with a great tan color. The bourlette is a red brown color and 80% complete. The root is nicely articulated and complete. The serrations are complete with a great tip serration - incredible serrations for a Sharktooth Hill Meg tooth! This is a middle Miocene Meg. Note - the "Chubutensis-like" bumps at the base of the serrated edge - very unique - an early Miocene Meg tooth feature!  100% natural. No repair or restoration. You do not see these middle Miocene Sharktooth Hill Megs from Bakersfield, California very often. This tooth has a highly desirable light tan enamel and a very massive root. This Parotodus benedeni tooth remains mounted on the original Round Mountain Silt matrix and it is sitting on a chunk of whale bone. The crown enamel has very good luster and very sharp edges. Highest quality enamel! Note -  a small (~1/8") tip repair was professionally done.  A very difficult tooth to locate and an EXCEPTIONAL Collector's tooth! A rare EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality Heterodontus dorsal spine - the Horn shark from the Sharktooth Hill area, near Bakersfield, California. This big spine specimen is still attached to its original Round Mountain silt matrix with a 2-1/4" whale ear bone. These Heterodontus spines only occasionally fossilize and they are quite rare. A great defensive weapon for the Horn shark! No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed. The Sharktooth deposits produce the largest and best fossil Horn shark spines.
