This dendrolithus egg may belong to the Hadrosaur named Saurolophus. It is found in the Kaoguo Formation, Upper Cretaceous era (Campanian) 70 to 80 million years old. Alethopteris is an extinct genus of primitive seed fern that evolved during the Pennsylvanian Period. This specimen is well preserved with white colored ferns on a near black colored shale matrix. This white coating is a characteristic of the mineral pyrophyllite. The St. Clair area is known for their white ferns on black matrix. Pennsylvanian age. (300 mya). It weighs 16.8 pounds.
