Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for three horns and a large frill protecting its neck. This is a great jaw section with good detail preserved and a great chocolate brown color and patina. This jaw has ~10 teeth visible. Triceratops bones are more difficult to find. Some crack fill. You can see the vertebra surface is very rugous with a very round centra which are characteristics of Triceratops and distinguishes it from a Hadrosaur. Triceratops bones are more difficult to find. It grew about 16 feet in length, and its name means "flexible lazard". It was a long-legged, bidel herbivore that relied on speed and agility to avoid predators.
