The April 2015 "Fossil Shark Tooth of the Month" selection is a GEM, 4-3/8" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth. It has an excellent light blue colored crown with an exceptional, extra large hazel brown bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Exceptional color! The bourlette is incredible and near perfect. The serrations are very large and razor sharp and essentially complete with a "needle like" tip. This tooth is from an old collection. A TOP QUALITY, Classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth - upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth. Highest quality enamel. Excellent color! The bourlette is excellent and perfect. The serrations are razor sharp, near perfect, with an excellent tip serration. Excellent serrations - razor sharp! The root is an excellent light tan color with essentially no hydration cracks, very wide, and absolutely complete. Also note the interesting small side cusps - a Miocene Megalodon predecessor trait. This Chubutensis was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, NC (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA). An excellent example of a classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth. A TOP QUALITY, 5-3/4" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth from Aurora, No. Carolina. A May Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon has an incredible light tan colored crown with a large brown colored bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Fantastic color!
