The October 2015 Week #4 Fossil of the Month is a LARGE, GEM Megalodon PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR upper jaw tooth from the Bolan Hall Creek, Jasper Co., So. Carolina. A gorgeous symmetrical Meg with a greenish - tan crown. High quality enamel. The brown bourlette is incredible, very glossy, anbd essentially complete. A Very Rare, Top Quality (Gem) Rolfodon ludvigseni tooth from Hornby Island, British Columbia, Canada. An August Fossil of the Month. This is a new genius from the Late Cretaceous deep water Northumberland Formation deposit. A unique species of Chlamydoselachiform shark, the Frill shark. These teeth exhibit classic Frill shark design with a central cusp flanked by two lateral cusps. A lateral tooth. The crown is complete and the root is complete. Note - two crown ends were very neatly reattached without fill or gaps which is typical for a matrix free specimen. Crack lines are hard to see without magnification. Highest quality enamel. No repair. A very difficult tooth to locate and an excellent collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed. This incredible specimen is from a 20 year old collection. A fantastic Frill shark specimen!

A LARGE, ultra rare, Top Quality Tyrannosaur toe bone from the late Cretaceous (Campanian) in northern North America. Please note that this toe bone could Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus or Daspletosaurus - see Detailed Discussion below. A May Fossil of the Month. This toe bone measures 3-5/8" - an excellent Tyrannosaur toe bone. This could be the next to last digit of the center toe (see Albertosaurus foot photo). The bone is very high quality and complete with excellent color. One crack repaired. No restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Judith River Fm., Hill Co., Montana. A TOP QUALITY, 4-5/8" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - an lower jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. This Meg has an incredible light tan colored crown with an excellent brown bourlette.
