An EXTRA LARGE Top Quality, Carcharodon hastalis,  Mako shark tooth (upper jaw lateral tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich  tan crown and a light tan colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. It is a Miocene tooth from the Pungo River Fm. An excellent collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed.

An EXTRA LARGE ultra rare, Top Quality Red Site Otodus megalodon tooth from the Meherrin River, North Carolina. An August Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon is a BIG upper jaw anterior tooth from the Meherrin River copper-red site. Exceptional rich copper red color. The enamel is the highest quality, and there is a cool bite mark on the display side (see the 5th photo). The serrations are large, razor sharp, and essentially complete with a good tip serration. Bourlette is extra large and brown - dentin layer. The root is wide & complete. A Pliocene Meg tooth. Note - the front center strip of enamel was professionally restored (high point of the tooth only). A Top Quality, rare Triceratops horridus epijugal (jugal spike) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for the large frill protecting its neck. Triceratops had a spike on its cheek which is called the jugal "spike" (see photo). This jugal spike has exceptional detail preserved and great color / patina.
