A GEM , CLASSIC Lee Creek Carcharocles chubutensis, a C. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. A rare posterior tooth. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). Note the crown exhibits large cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge and the root ends also show grooves where the teeth interlocked. These are characteristic traits of the Lee Creek early Meg - C. chubutensis. A gorgeous light tan colored crown with an excellent hazel brown bourlette. An excellent pair of early Mako shark teeth,  I. praecursor, an Eocene age Mako.  Very nice color. These very difficult teeth to find in the limestone quarries. Found in the Castle Hayne Fm., Castle Hayne, NC.

A Rare, "Flying" Minicryphaeus giganteus trilobite. Another November Fossil of the Month. The specimen has been expertly prepared to make it completely free standing in a flying position. This is a BIG trilobite with a very unique design. Incredible shell and spine preservation and incredible size for this rare species! A well defined rostrum and excellent compound eyes.
