A rare, Top Quality Classic Red Site Carcharocles megalodon from the Meherrin River, North Carolina. This Meg is an incredible upper jaw anterior tooth. An April Fossil of the Month. NC002 has an incredibly rich copper-red color. Fantastic color! The enamel is the highest quality with exceptional gloss. The serrations are large and 100% complete with a perfect tip. Bourlette is brown and 80% complete with minimal dentin layer exposed. The root is completeand nicely articulated. A very well preserved tooth. This is a gorgeous Miocene Meg with "root ear" develoment and grooves on the root end sides. Note - you rarely see a copper red colored Megalodon tooth that has a top quality crown and serrations and a complete root - a top 1% tooth from this site! The Carcharomodus escheri  was named as a new genus in 2015 based upon a crenulated cutting edge ("wavy serrations"), slender & duistally inclined crown, and side cusplets. This tooth has good color and preservation. Sharp cutting edge. Two side cusplets. The age is late Miocene (approx. 6-8 million years ago). An excellent rare collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed. A difficult tooth to source.

A TOP QUALITY, very rare Basilosaurus cetoides, an Archaeocete whale tooth found in the Flint River, Georgia. An exceptional molar tooth (see photo for tooth positions). A July Fossil of the Month. An excellent green colored crown and brown root. Nicely articulated. Incredible preservation!  Note - the enamel tip shows absolutely no wear pattern on crown. Whales do not shed their teeth like the sharks so there teeth will wear with age.
