A Top Quality Tyrannosaur tooth from the late Cretaceous (Campanian) in northern North America. An October Fossil of the Month. Please note that this tooth could Gorgosaurus or Daspletosaurus - see Detailed Discussion below. This tooth measures 2-3/8" - an excellent Tyrannosaur tooth. The enamel is high quality with excellent color. Anterior serrations and posterior serrations are excellent. Serrated to the tip. Note - the top has some minor planting etching and there is one natural wear facet on the side (very typical for the Campanian Tyrannosaurs). No cracks, repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Judith River Fm., McCone Co., Montana. Probably an excellent Gorgosaurus tooth based on size and roundness of the tooth cross-section. A rare, TOP QUALITY Megatherium americanum sloth claw from an extinct genus of giant ground sloths from the Pampean region, Uruguay. A March Fossil of the Month. Megatherium is from the family of the largest Ground sloths. This claw has excellent preservation. It is complete down to an excellent tip with essentially no restoration or repair. There appears to be a 1.5” area of the top of the sheath rim on the back side that may have minor restoration (see photo - a small area). Excellent preservation of the proximal end. A Top Quality Lambeosaur (Parasaurolophus) maxilla from the late Cretaceous (Judith River Fm.) of North America. An April Fossil of the Month. This is a complete upper jaw containing 100s exposed teeth. Parasaurolophus is a lambeosaur (crested) hadrosaur or "duck-bill" from the Judith River Formation in Montana. The maxilla possessed 100s teeth that were in rows of teeth which acted as conveyor belt to maintain a chewing surface to cut and grind their food. Bone quality is excellent. Minor crack fill. No restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Judith River Fm., Fergus Co., Mpntana. A Top Quality, Triceratops horridus toe bone (pes digit) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for three horns and the large frill protecting its neck. This is an excellent toe bone with excellent detail preserved and good color / patina. This is the large toe I - digit 1 bone. You can see the "mushroom" appearance of proximal ends which is a characteristic of Triceratops and distinguishes it from a Hadrosaur toe bone. Triceratops bones are more difficult to find. Minor crack fill. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in Powder River Co., Montana. Authenticity guaranteed. A very rare,Top Quality Anzu wyliei finger from the Hell Creek Fm. of So. Dakota. A september Fossil of the Month. Anzu is referred to as the "Chicken from Hell", a large Hell Creek Fm. oviraptor. This is the 2nd finger with a non-assciated manus claw and digit. The manus claw is top quality with minor crack fill. Excellent rich brown color and patina. A Top Quality, Triceratops horridus brow horn from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. A May Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek Formation. This is a special horn with exceptional detail preserved and excellent color & natural patina. Fantastic surface articualtion. You can see all of the natural blood grooves around the surface of the horn. Plus this horn includes most of the orbital which is quite rare - a very complete specimen. The preparation of the horn was fairly basic and simple - some minor crack fill and approximately 1" of the tip end was restored which is very minimal restoration for a horn. This is not a horn that is 20 - 30% or more putty which you most often see. It comes with a custom steel stand as shown. A fantastic fossil overall for display. An exceptional pathologic Otodus obliquus tooth from the Khouribga phosphate mining area of Morocco. This pathologic tooth exhibits unusual root depressions across the face of the root and has both side cusps coming out of the front of the root. Very strange! A very difficult pathology to locate. Complete tooth. No Repair! Authenticity guaranteed. A fantastic, rare collector's tooth.
