An ultra rare, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi, a complete whorl with three crowns from Herrin, Illinois. A July Fossil of the Month. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamp that our now underground coal deposits. Exceptional preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically with linear tooth whorls. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. This whorl is incredibly massive at 6" long with three crowns. The whorl body is well perserved with an excellent bright line of pyrite below the crown enamel. The crowns are large at 1-5/8" wide and look fantastic. Note - One crown tip has a small professional repair (~1/8") which is very common for a whorl. Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. An ULTRA Rare, TOP QUALITY Parotodus benedeni tooth from Sharktooth Hill, near Bakersfield California. A December 2022 Fossil of the Month. This tooth has a highly desirable light tan enamel and a very massive root. This Parotodus benedeni tooth remains mounted on the original Round Mountain Silt matrix and it is sitting on a chunk of whale bone. The crown enamel has very good luster and very sharp edges. Highest quality enamel! Note -  a small (~1/8") tip repair was professionally done.  A very difficult tooth to locate and an EXCEPTIONAL Collector's tooth! A HIGH QUALITY 4-11/16" Carcharodontosaurus tooth from the Kem Kem deposits of Morocco. This tooth is huge with a 4" crown! An excellent golden brown color. High quality enamel. Excellent overall quality and preservation. Very good anterior and posterior serrations. Excellent growth waves near cutting edge. Large position tooth in jaw - extra wide crown. Absolutely no cracks running across the tooth. There is an one inch area on the reverse side that must of lifted and it was stabilized. No restoration. A very rare Top Quality, Allosaurus & Camarasaurus toe bone from the Morrison Fm. These toe bones are complete, and they reside on an Allosaurus  vertebra neural section as originally found. The Allosaurus toe bone is 2-1/2" and the Camarasaurus toe bone measures 2-3/8" in length. High quality bone. Rich brown color. Very good overall condition with minor bone erosion. Normal crack fill. No restoration. Allosaurus was the apex predator during the late Jurassic and Camarasaurus was a medium-sized sauropod. Legally collected on private land in the Morrison Fm., Emery Co., Utah.
