An ULTRA RARE Top Quality, 6-1/4" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. A February Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon has an incredible light tan colored crown with brown bourlette, and light tan root. Highest quality enamel. Fantastic color!  The serrations are razor sharp and essentially complete including an excellent tip serration. Incredible serrations for a BIG Megalodon tooth. The bourlette has a nice contrast -  mostly dentin layer. The root is nicely articulated and complete with an excellent light tan color. It is also wide (4-5/8") with essentially no hydration cracks. This Megalodon was found in the Yorktown Formation, Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina (Pliocene age = 4.5 MYA). An excellent BIG collector's tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine! A TOP QUALITY Deltadromeus tooth from the Cretaceous Kem Kem deposits of Morocco. Sharp serrations. Great preservation. Excellent red color. Great posterior profile curve. An excellent tooth from a mid size Cretaceous theropod. No cracks. No repair or restoration. These teeth are very uncommon. Please see my Deltadromeus tooth discussion below. This is my best estimate of this species based upon the characteristics of this theropod and distinguishing it from other known Kem Kem theropod species. An incredible 5-1/4" GEM, Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth. It has an excellent medium blue colored crown with an exceptional hazel brown bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Fantastic color! One of the finest examples of a classic upper jaw anterior blue Lee Creek Megs considering the shape, color, and preservation. An exceptional collector's tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine. LC050             Size: 5-1/4"

A GEM, Lee Creek Carcharocles chubutensis, a C. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. This tooth was given the name the "Oreo Chub" with its black and white bourlette. Very rare colors for Lee Creek. A May Fossil of the Month. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). Note the crown exhibits large cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge and the root ends also show grooves where the teeth interlocked. These are characteristic traits of the Lee Creek early Meg - C. chubutensis. A gorgeous tan &  blue colored crown with an incredible black & white bourlette. Fantastic serrations with a nearly perfect with damage to one. The root is dark brown with small hydration cracks. Highest quality enamel! Excellent color! No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed. I have only seen one LC Chub like this one -  the "Oreo Chub" is a Lee Creek rarity!

Well preserved egg shell pieces from the second Late Cretaceous Titanosaur dinosaur from southern France. This was a medium sized Titanosaur. A very unique shell design with well defined small dimples. These egg shell pieces are typical size for these small eggs with a shell thickness of ~1/8". These late Cretaceous age shells were found near Puyloubier, Aix Basin, Provence, France. All natural. No restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.

A 2nd May 2016 Fossil of the Month is a GEM light brown colored "Picture" Megalodon - PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. Fantastic colors - a mix of light brown, reddish brown, some blue and charcoal highlights. Highest quality enamel - glass-like surface with no hydration cracks. The finest enamel preservation - very rare! A very nice deep brown bourlette - 100% complete. Razor sharp serrations including an excellent tip serration.
