A TOP QUALITY shark vertebra from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Exceptional condition and preservation. Incredibly defined ventral holes. This vertebara is a septate design and resembles a vertebra from the Isurus hastalis (Mako) shark. These vertebrae are rarely found and exceptional specimens are extremely difficult to obtain. These vertebrae were found in Miocene Pungo River Formation (15 million years old). Authenticity guaranteed.

Very few parts of the shark will fossilize since the shark's skeleton is cartilaginous. The vertebral disks will occasionally fossilize, and they are quite rare compared to the shark teeth. This catalog contains excellent fossil shark vertebrae from a variety sharks species.Ā These vertebrae are rarely found and exceptional specimens are very difficult to obtain. These vertebrae were found in Miocene Pungo River Formation (15 million years old).
