Buried Treasure Fossils offers exceptional extra large teeth (6"+ size) Megalodon teeth, the most highly sought fossil shark tooth. These teeth are noted for their wide triangular crowns which are fully serrated. The largest examples of Otodus megalodon teeth exceed 7 inches in length and are extremely rare. Body lengths most likely exceeded 50 foot. The undisputed king of the Miocene - Pliocene seas (4-20 million years ago). Please note that these Megalodon teeth have been carefully selected and are of the highest quality. These teeth will have full roots, tips, well defined (sharp) serrations , enamel, and bourrelet with all having little to no damage. We sell top quality Megalodon teeth at reasonable prices. You will not find Megalodon teeth with excessive "river polish" with details barely visible or teeth with dings & dents or excessive peel in this catalog (there are plenty of mediocre, specimen grade teeth sold on eBay!). An EXTRA LARGE ultra rare, Top Quality Red Site Otodus megalodon tooth from the Meherrin River, North Carolina. A January Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon is a BIG upper jaw anterior tooth from the Meherrin River copper-red site. Excellent copper red color. The enamel is the highest quality, and there is a cool bite mark on the display side (see the 3rd photo). The serrations are large, razor sharp, and essentially complete with a good tip serration. Bourlette is extra large and brown - dentin layer. The root is wide & complete. A Pliocene Meg tooth. Note - the front center strip of enamel was professionally restored (high point of the tooth only). An old collection piece from the rarest location to find a top quality Megalodon tooth - rarer than Lee Creek, Peru, Bone Valley, etc. Authenticity guaranteed.
