A rare, TOP QUALITY, Extra LargeTriceratops horridus hoof core (pes claw) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. A world class specimen. An April Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation which is known for three horns and a large frill protecting its neck. This adult hoof core has exceptional detail preserved and excellent color & patina. A WORLD CLASS size. Note -Triceratops hoof cores are generally smaller than Hadrosaur, have a very rugous surface, have a characteristeristic "shallow ledge" covering 40% of the under side, have less height than Hadrosaur, and are much more difficult to find. This hoof core has the correct features, is fantastically preserved, and has incredible size. One crack. No restoration. Legally collected on private land in Garfield Co., Montana. A Top Quality, Triceratops horridus brow horn from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. An April Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell and Lance Creek Formations. This is an excellent horn with detail preserved with good color and natural patina. Great surface articulation. You can see the natural blood grooves around the surface of the horn. The preparation of the horn was fairly basic and simple with minor crack repair and minor restoration (<10%). It comes with the custom steel stand as shown. A Top Quality Triceratops horridus nasal horn section from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for three horns and the large frill protecting its neck. A complete nasal horn. This is an excellent nasal horn with good detail preserved. You can see the natural blood grooves around the surface of the horn and the skull bone is attached to the rear of the horn. The base of this horn shows great articulation of the skull  bone. There is some crack fill and minor restoration (<10%). It comes with a sturdy custom steel stand as shown. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for three horns and a large frill protecting its neck. This is a great jaw section with good detail preserved and a great chocolate brown color and patina. This jaw has ~10 teeth visible. Triceratops bones are more difficult to find. Some crack fill. This is a dorsal vertebra with exceptional detail preserved with good color and patina. Complete specimen. You can see the vertebra surface is very rugous with a very round centra which are characteristics of Triceratops and distinguishes it from a Hadrosaur. Triceratops bones are more difficult to find.
