An excellent, rare unidentified Dicotaledon fruit / seed pod specimen from Morocco. The Moroccan "pine cone". Found in the late Eocene sediments in Western Sahara, Morocco. Excellent detail preserved. Note that the interior of the cone is replaced by agate.

An EXTRA LARGE TOP QUALITY, Metasequoia dakotensis cone from Montana. These "dinosaur age" pine cones are found in the Hell Creek Formation of Dawson Co., Montana. These Upper Cretaceous pine cones are high quality with great preservation.They are inflated spheres (slightly compressed) and maximun size (redwoods produce very small cones for their size!). The Metasequoia is the "dawn redwood", and it is one of the three redwood conifers species. Authenticity guaranteed.

An EXTRA LARGE, pyrite replaced Paraspirifer bownockeri brachiopod from the Silica Shale Fm., Sylvania, Ohio. Brachiopods are bivalve molluscs, and this is a big one. Both valves present  - complete specimen and matrix free. Note -  1-1/8" thick and heavy! This is a Devonian (395 mya) brachiopod. The big Silica Fm. brachiopod. A Top Quality Carcharodon hastalis, Broad-tooth Mako, shark tooth - lower jaw lateral tooth from the Bahia Iglesa Fm. of Chile. This tooth has a light blue crown and a tan root. Excellent color! Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. Perfect tooth. This species is the ancestor to the Great White shark. A fantastic collector's tooth.
