A well preserved juvenile bison toe bone (Bison antiquus) from Northern Florida.  This is the second toe bone (phalanx).  The bison arrived in North America during the middle Pleistocene (195, 000 to 135,000 years ago). A LARGE horse astragalus bone (Equus sp. ) from Northern Florida.  The astragalus is the ankle bobe. The horse arrived in North America during the late Pliocene and became extinct at the end of the Pleistocene. A well fossilized specimen. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.

An extinct extinct Oreodont tooth (Merycoidodon gracilis ) from Sioux Co., Nebraska. Merycoidodon gracilis was one of many mammals that thrived in the Early Oligocene in North America. Found in the Brule Fm. (Rupelian) 33 - 30 million years ago. A very well preserved specimen. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.

A TOP QUALITY Megalonyx leptostomus sloth claw from an extinct genus of giant ground sloths and our December 2017 Fossil of the Month. This claw has excellent preservation and shows little water wear. It's complete down to a nice tip with absolutely no restoration or repair. Excellent preservation of the proximal end. There is a little eriosion on the top of the claw. A wonderful Late Pliocene - Early Pleistocene display piece from northern Florida. Authenticity guaranteed. One of my favorites!

A TOP QUALITY, LARGE Stylemys nebrascensis, a fossil tortoise shell, from the White River Badlands, Brule Formation, South Dakota. Fantastic color and preservation. Note that Stylemys is thought to be a burrowing tortoise which helps maintain the 3-D in aspect of the shell when they are died in their burrow. Exceptional preparation with a little restoration done to the left side (front view) which is minor and common for the White River tortoise shells. One of the better White River tortoise shells and a great display piece. Authenticity guaranteed.

A TOP QUALITY Paleolagus haydeni, fossil rabbit, mortality piece from the White River Badlands, Brule Formation, South Dakota. The mortality rock contains three skulls and parts of a few bodies. An Ultra Rare, Extra Large Pappocetus lugardi (Andrews, 1920) incisor tooth from Morocco. This material is a new find and represents one of the earliest transition forms of the whale. Pappocetus is a protocetid (see discussion below) and a large amphibious aquatic carnivore. Pappocetus is also an ancestor of the Basilosaurus. This material is complete and without repair. Crack fill only on some pieces. This is an opportunity to own an incredibly rare specimen from an early evolutionary stage of the modern whale. Perfect tooth. A fantastic collector's specimen.
