A very rare, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi shark tooth, from Herrin, Illinois. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Excellent preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion or a vertical whipping motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. An EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality Triceratops horridus shed tooth or "spitter" tooth from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Triceratops is a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation. The enamel is excellent quality with nice color / patina. This tooth is commonly called a "spitter" tooth as it was worn out, released, and replaced. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Hell Creek Fm., Carter Co., Montana. A scarce Top Quality, Isurus retroflexus, the Longfin Mako shark tooth (upper jaw anterior tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. This tooth has a rich tan crown and a gray colored root. Excellent colors!  Sharp cutting edge. The rear top of root has a "shoulder" build up, a characteristic of Isurus retroflexus. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. It is a Miocene tooth from the Pungo River Fm. An excellent collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed. A difficult tooth to source.

A rare Seal tooth from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. The seal teeth are rarely seen. An incredibly preserved Miocene seal canine tooth from the Pungo River Fm. A fantastic collector's tooth. It is ashame that there is no more access to the Lee Creek mine. This is an old collection piece. Authenticity guaranteed.
