FAQs — Authentic Dinosaur Bones

What makes dinosaur bones authentic? Authentic dinosaur bones are original fossilized remains that have not been reconstructed, cast, or artificially fabricated. Genuine specimens exhibit natural mineralization, original bone surface texture, and verifiable provenance. Every authentic dinosaur bone sold here includes a written guarantee of authenticity.

Where are these authentic dinosaur bones collected? These authentic dinosaur bones are legally collected from private lands in the northwestern United States and Morocco. Both regions are well-documented sources of Cretaceous and Jurassic theropod and sauropod remains, and all specimens are acquired in compliance with applicable laws.

What is the difference between authentic dinosaur bones and replicas? Authentic dinosaur bones are the original fossilized skeletal remains of prehistoric animals, whereas replicas are casts or reproductions molded from real specimens. Only original fossils carry scientific provenance value and are appreciated as genuine prehistoric artifacts in the collector market.

How are authentic dinosaur bones prepared for sale? Authentic dinosaur bones are cleaned, consolidated, and prepared by professional fossil technicians. This process removes the surrounding matrix while preserving the original bone surface detail, leaving each specimen structurally stable and ready for display or scientific study.

Are Cretaceous and Jurassic dinosaur bones rare on the collector market? High-quality, authenticated Cretaceous and Jurassic dinosaur bones are relatively uncommon. Availability depends on active, legally permitted excavation from private land sites in the US and Morocco, and each specimen offered represents a carefully evaluated selection.

Can authentic dinosaur bones be legally resold? Yes. Authentic dinosaur bones legally collected from private land in the United States or abroad can generally be resold. Full provenance documentation accompanies every piece, supporting future transactions and confirming the specimen's legal origin.
