An Ultra Rare, Top Quality 4-3/4" Sharktooth Hill Megalodon tooth found in the Round Mountain Silt near Bakersfield, California. A location that produces very few Megalodon teeth and one of the toughest Megs to locate. A March 2021 Fossil of the Month. This tooth is still embedded in its original Round Mountain silt matrix block with a large whale bone. The whale bone is 7" long and 1.5" wide. Highest quality enamel with an excellent tan color. The bourlette is a tan color and 85% complete. The serrations are extra large and 100% complete. The root is nicely articulated and complete. Also note the grooves on the root ends - a Miocene trait. This is a middle Miocene Meg - very unique! Note - This is a 100% natural matrix block with nothing added or glued. No repair or restoration other the very tip. A HUGE, High Quality Aetomylaeus sp., an Eagle ray, mouth plate from Caldera area of Chile. An April Fossil of the Month. An excellent plate of pavement teeth from the lower jaw. This plate has good preservation, light brown color, and is exceptionally clean. Note - the bottom side of this specimen is completely matrix free - rare. A new phacopid trilobite with diagnostic characteristics including schizochroal eyes with fewer facets, a broader cephalon, and a smoother exoskeleton. An excellent specimen with good detail and completeness. The PERFECT, very rare Parotodus benedeni tooth. An April 2019 Fossil of the Month. Lateral tooth. The crown has extremely sharp cutting edges. Exceptional light tan & blue color and preservation. An incredible wide bourlette. The root is ~5/8" thick and shows few small hydration cracks! Note- grooves on the sides of the root lobes - a Miocene tooth trait. A unique species of Hexanchiforme shark. The crown is incomplete with 4 cusplets  and the root is incomplete (partial tooth).  High quality enamel. No repair. A very rare, Top Quality Anchiceratops ornatus epoccipital (frill ornament) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Anchiceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Horseshoe Canyon formation which has three horns and a large frill protecting its neck. This epoccipital has excellent detail preserved and great color / patina. The epoccipitals were triangular bone ornaments that lined the top of the frill.  Note - this epoccipital  position is naturally asymmetrical  (see 2nd photo of right side). This epoccipital exhibits incredible detail and is very thick & heavy. An EXTRA LARGE TOP QUALITY, very rare Basilosaurus cetoides, an Archaeocete whale tooth found in the Suwanee River, Suwanee Co., Florida. An excellent canine tooth (see photo for tooth positions).
