A LARGE Top Quality, Carcharodon hastalis,  Mako shark tooth (upper anterior jaw tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich  blue crown and a brown colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. A Top Quality BLUE petrified limb section from Java, Indonesia. This petrified wood is Pliocene age (3 MYA). A natural fossil wood section that is covered with light blue (crystaline opal?) mineral. It appears to be from one of the secret Indonesian blue opal sites, but this limb had no cavities for the opal to form. An ultra rare, Thalassocnus, a Swimming Sloth, claw. This sloth lived on the west coast of So. America during the late Miocene age. The rare claw is from the Bahia Inglesia Formation, Copiapo, Chile. Fantastic red color. Very good condition with minor damage (erosion). No repair.  I have not seen a swimming sloth claw for sale before. This is all of the sloth material that I have from 10+ years ago! A rare collector's claw.

An Ultra Rare, Extra Large Pappocetus lugardi (Andrews, 1920) incisor tooth from Morocco. This material is a new find and represents one of the earliest transition forms of the whale. Pappocetus is a protocetid (see discussion below) and a large amphibious aquatic carnivore. Pappocetus is also an ancestor of the Basilosaurus. This material is complete and without repair.
