This is a beautiful pair very rare Basking shark gill rakers. An extremely difficult shark to find. I have only seen 4 of them!

A LARGE, very rare, Top Quality Parotodus benedeni  tooth with a massive root from the Summerville, So. Carolina. A Miocene-Pliocene age tooth from the Hawthorne Fm. Nice tan color. Lateral tooth. High quality enamel with sharp edges and  tip. Root is complete, thick (5/8"), nicely articulated, and a typical hydration crack. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.
