A High Quality, Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - lower jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. This Megalodon has a nice tan colored crown with an excellent brown bourlette. The bourlette is excellent and near complete. The serrations are sharp, but the tip was lost in a feeding frenzy. The root is an excellent tan color with few hydration cracks and absolutely complete with cool groove on the root lobes. This Megalodon was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA). An excellent collector's tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine! An ultra rare, Top Quality Judith River Nodosaur body spike from the late Cretaceous of North America. AJune Fossil of the Month. The Campanian age Nodosaurs grew to 22 feet and 6000 pounds, and a body covered with this bony armor with body spikes along the edge of the body (see Edmontonia photo). Edmontonia is the named Two Medicine Fm. Nodosaur which is a good proxy to the currently undescribed Judith River Fm. Nodosaur. The bone is excellent quality with excellent color / patina. A complete side armor spike from a large Nodosaur. ~72 MYA. Note - there is less than 10% professional restoration in small areas for aesthetic purposes at the base. These dogs were domesticated from the wolves by man for hunting and were found around paleolithic hunting encampments. They lived around the mountain caves from central Europe to Russia during the Ice Age.
