A LARGE, ultra rare, GEM Trigonotodus serratus shark tooth, the extinct serrated Giant Thresher from southern Virginia. Our last January 2018 Fossil of the Month offering. Fantastic copper red color. Incredible preservation and condition. This tooth is middle Miocene age, York Co., VA. These teeth are rarely found and rarely seen. An ultra rare collectors' tooth in top quality condition. A rare, TOP QUALITY Megatherium americanum sloth claw from an extinct genus of giant ground sloths from the Pampean region, Uruguay. A March Fossil of the Month. Megatherium is from the family of the largest Ground sloths. This claw has excellent preservation. It is complete down to an excellent tip with essentially no restoration or repair. There appears to be a 1.5” area of the top of the sheath rim on the back side that may have minor restoration (see photo - a small area). Excellent preservation of the proximal end. A rare, Top Quality Lamna nasus, Porbeagle shark tooth from the "De Kuilen" sand pit, Mill, The Netherlands. A Mackerel shark. This tooth has excellent color and preservation. Sharp cutting edge and tip. The age is late Miocene (approx. 6-8 million years ago). An excellent collector's tooth. A rare, Quality Anzu wyliei toe bone (digit 1 - the large digit) from the Hell Creek Fm. of Montana. Anzu is referred to as the "Chicken from Hell". An excellent toe bone. Excellent brown color and patina. This specimen has excellent perservation. A complete specimen with minor natural crushing on one side. A quality, collector's toe bone from the Hell Creek of Montana. Note - 2014 Anzu wyliei description paper attached below.
