An exceptionally preserved, fossil dog jaw (Canis familiaris). This is a complete lower jaw with ten teeth from Austria. An October Fossil of the Month. This early dog is from the La Tene period (Younger Iron Time) and is 2300 years old during the Roman Period. Dogs were domesticated from the wolves by man for hunting & protection. An ultra rare Mosasaur matrix piece with two Top Quality Mosasaurus (Prognathodon) anceps teeth with their original roots. Another May 2018 Fossil of the Month selection. Includes a massive 5-1/2" tooth and a 3" tooth in the original matrix. Both are fully rooted and perfect teeth which is very rare! This is not your typical Mosasaur crown glued to a root. This is an all original, associated specimen (beware of the fakes - discussion below). Exceptional condition and preservation.  No repair or restoration. Museum Quality. A GEM , CLASSIC Lee Creek Carcharocles chubutensis, a C. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. A rare posterior tooth. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). Note the crown exhibits large cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge and the root ends also show grooves where the teeth interlocked. These are characteristic traits of the Lee Creek early Meg - C. chubutensis. A gorgeous light tan colored crown with an excellent hazel brown bourlette. Exceptional serrations with a razor sharp tip serration. The root is tan with no hydration cracks. Highest quality enamel! Excellent color! No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.

An incredibly prepared, GEM QUALITY Erbenochile erbeni trilobite, the "Big Eyes" trilobite. An April Fossil of the Month. German preparation. A very ornate design with thorax spines and incredible "tower" compound eyes! The massive eyes provided 360 degree visual coverage and allowed this trilobite to see behind itself over the thorax. Excellent shell and spine preservation. Large size. A very rare species! An Early Devonian (410 mya) trilobite from the Jbel Gara el Zguilma area, Atlas Mts., Morocco.
