A rare EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality Triceratops horridus occipital condyle with brain case attached from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for three horns and the large frill protecting its neck. This is a beautiful 4-1/2" occipital condyle with exceptional detail preserved. This large codyle has fantastic color and patina plus a large section of braincase is attached. Note - The occipital condyle was the connection point of the Triceratops massive skull to the vertebrae column, and it allowed for maximum rotation of the head. No repair or restoration. 100% natural specimen. This three tooth set includes upper jaw anterior teeth from Carcharodon hastalis, Carcharodon hubbelli and Carcharodon carcharias. A September Fossil of the Month. A GEM QUALITY Chubutensis tooth from the Ica area of Peru - an upper jaw tooth. An August Fossil of the Month. An excellent dark tan colored crown with no peel. Highest quality enamel. Sharp serrations are 1oo5 complete with an excellent tip serration. Note - the short serration is pathologic - no damage. Very nice side cusps. The bourlette is orange color and 100% complete. Lepidodendron, a Lycopod or "fern-like" tree.  Very ornate bark pattern. Exquisite detail and preservation. The shale matrix is a very nice color. This specimen comes from the coal bearing region of the Upper Silesia Basin, Czerwionka, Poland. They are approx. 315 MM years old.
