A rare late Jurassic sauropod limb bone section from the Morrison Fm. with bite marks. This is most likely a Camarasaurus tibia end section.  There is a tooth rake and a wedge cut shown in photos #3 & 4. Photo #5 shows a circular puncture of the bone. Camarasaurus was a mid- sized Jurassic sauropod.. Great rich brown gray color. Excellent bone quality. Note - sauropods had hollow bones with air sacs to reduce their weight. A very rare, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi shark tooth, from Herrin, Illinois. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. An incredible brown colored specimen - very unusual. Excellent preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion or a vertical whipping motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A rare, Top Quality Triceratops horridus rooted tooth from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Another July 2018 Fossil of the Month. Triceratops is a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation. The enamel is excellent quality with excellent color / patina. Extra large root which is quite rare. Incredible preservation of the crown and root that shows their intricate detail. The chewing surface measures 1-1/14” with a very high ridge. A Top Quality Edmontosaurus annectens lower jaw section from the late Cretaceous of North America. An August Fossil of the Month. Edmontosaurus is a very large hadrosaur or "duck-bill" dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation. They possessed ~300 teeth that were in columns of five teeth each which acted as conveyor belt to maintain a large chewing surface to cut and grind their food. This specimen is a large section of the lower jaw showing at least 20 teeth still in place. Bone quality is excellent with no cracks. No restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Hell Creek Fm., Powder River Co., Montana. A exceptional specimen from one of my favorite localities.
