A Rare, "Flying" Minicryphaeus giganteus trilobite. Another November Fossil of the Month. The specimen has been expertly prepared to make it completely free standing in a flying position. A very rare, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi shark tooth, from Herrin, Illinois. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. An excellent matrix specimen that inludes the opposing tooth mold as well. Excellent preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion or a vertical whipping motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. A LARGE RARE, Albertavenator curriei  (Troodon) tooth from the Horseshoe Canyon Fm. of Alberta, Canada. Troodontid teeth are known for their very unique shaped teeth with unusually large distal serrations. The enamel is excellent with an excellent brown color.  Excellent large posterior and anterior serrations. Please note that Albertavenator teeth typically have anterior (mesial) serrations. There is a small damage on the tip. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Horseshoe Canyon Fm., Alberta, Canada. These Albertavenator teeth were collected pre-July 1978 and a Confirmation Certificate #001427 was granted (see photo). A TOP QUALITY, EXTRA LARGE & very rare Archaeocete whale, Zygorhiza kochii. Our November Fossil of the Month is a highly desirable Zygorhiza molar or "yoke" tooth.  An exceptional light brown colored crown and tan root. Nicely articulated. Complete root. This tooth has minimal repair to 2nd & 4th cusp on the left side and a small amount to the 4th cusp on the right side.
