A rare Mako shark tooth from Sumatra, Indonesia. These teeth appear to be juvenile Isurus desori teeth (narrow crown) and are scarce in the Sumatran deposit. They were deposited in the Telisa formation - a shallow marine environment during the middle Miocene (approx. 15 million years ago.) A very unique collector's tooth. D056 is an upper jaw tooth. An EXCELLENT, Isurus oxyrhincus tooth, the Shortfin Mako, from the Meherrin River, No. Carolina. Upper jaw lateral tooth. Good copper red color with exceptional gloss.
