A rare, LARGE rooted Top Quality Prognathodon anceps tooth with a jaw section from the phosphate mining region, Khouribga, Morocco. P. anceps is the largest mosasaur species known with huge with wide teeth used for crushing prey.  Exceptional condition and preservation. Note - this large Moroccan Mosasaur was renamed to a Prognathodon genus. The crown measures 2-1/2". Wide base and root. One crack. A very rare, LARGE, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi shark tooth, from Herrin, Illinois. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Excellent preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion or a vertical whipping motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. A rare, EXTRA LARGE Top Quality Megalodon - upper jaw anterior tooth from West Java, Indonesia - new site. This 6" Megalodon has an excellent red & tan colored tooth with a unique brown colored bourlette with "lightning strikes". High quality enamel. Exceptional color! The bourlette is extra large and 95% complete. The serrations are razor sharp and complete with an excellent tip serration. Exceptional serrations for a BIG Meg tooth. The root is good with matrix on the rear which is most likely covering surface pits which are common to these Meg teeth. Miocene Age.
