The my last July 2017 Fossil of the Month is a GEM 4-11/16" Megalodon - upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth. Fantastic colors - gray enamel and a jet black bourlette. Highest quality enamel - glass-like surface. The finest enamel preservation - very rare! An exceptional black bourlette - near complete. Razor sharp serrations including an exceptional tip serration. Serrations are just about perfect. The root is incredible - a medium brown, nicely articulated, and complete with very small hydration cracks on the display side. A very rare, Otodus aksuaticus tooth from the copper-red site of No. Carolina. The crown has coarse serrations over the lower 2/3 of crown that disappear in the top 1/3 of crown. The side cusps are typical of the Otodus obliquus. Complete root. Early Eocene - Ypresian age. A very rare collector's tooth. Very few Otodus aksuaticus teeth found at this site!

A Rare, GEM Classic Peruvian Megalodon tooth with great color. This Megalodon has an incredible red &  brown colored crown. The bourlette is a dark brown and nearly complete.
