The May 2015 Fossil of the Month. My BEST GEM, EXTRA LARGE Megalodon PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR upper jaw tooth from the Ashapoo River, So. Carolina. A "PICTURE" Meg with a gorgeous light brown ("Ashapoo") crown with charcoal colored "clouds". Highest quality enamel. The medium brown bourlette is incredible, very glossy, nearly complete, and very showy. The serrations are incredibly large and sharp with an excellent tip serration, and 100% complete - perfect! An EXTRA LARGE, TOP QUALITY Nanotyrannus lancensis tooth from the western US. An October Fossil of the Month. This tooth measures 2-1/4" (straight line). The enamel is excellent quality. The posterior serrations are exceptional and anterior serrations are excellent. A wide tooth with an extra large rectangular base with a typical Nano "pinched rectangle" cross-section. A very rare Top Quality, Allosaurus & Camarasaurus toe bone from the Morrison Fm. These toe bones are complete, and they reside on an Allosaurus  vertebra neural section as originally found. The Allosaurus toe bone is 2-1/2" and the Camarasaurus toe bone measures 2-3/8" in length. High quality bone. Rich brown color. Very good overall condition with minor bone erosion. Normal crack fill. No restoration. Allosaurus was the apex predator during the late Jurassic and Camarasaurus was a medium-sized sauropod. Legally collected on private land in the Morrison Fm., Emery Co., Utah. An ultra rare Top Quality, Stegosaurus plate. A February Fossil of the Month. This Stegosaurus plate is good sized and measures 17-1/2" wide x 13" high. The bone quality is exceptional with a black color. Excellent overall condition. There is limited crack fill, but there is no restoration. This is a large and all natural specimen. Stegosaurus was an iconic quadruped herbivore recognized by these plates lining its neck, back and tail during the late Jurassic. Legally collected on private land in the Morrison Fm., Bone Cabin Quarry, Albany Co., Wyoming. Authenticity guaranteed.
