An Extra Large, TOP QUALITY, 3" Carcharodon (Isurus) hastalis tooth with an excellent blue & tan colored crown. A March Fossil of the Month. This is a natural matrix specimen sitting with many whale bones in the original Round Mountain Silt matrix block. The large whale bone at base is 5-3/4" x 3". An ultra rare, Top Quality EXTRA LARGE Edestus heinrichi shark whorl section with 4 big crowns, from Sparta, Illinois. An August Fossil of the Month. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Excellent preservation and serrations. Note - extra long root whorl section with 4 extra large crowns - very rare. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. A TOP QUALITY, 5-3/4" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth from Aurora, No. Carolina. A May Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon has an incredible light tan colored crown with a large brown colored bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Fantastic color! The crown is very wide (4-9/16") - incredible! The bourlette is excellent, extra large and 99% perfect. The serrations are razor sharp with an excellent tip serration (they will cut your hand). Super serrations for a larger Meg tooth - razor sharp! The root is an excellent tan color with small hydration cracks and complete.
