An Ultra Rare, High Quality Sharktooth Hill Megalodon tooth found in the Round Mountain Silt near Bakersfield, California. A location that produces very few Megalodon teeth and one of the toughest Megs to locate. Good quality enamel with a great light tan color. The bourlette is a near white color and complete. The serrations are sharp and near complete with a rounded tip. The root is nicely articulated and complete. Also note the large groove on the root ends - a Miocene trait. An Ultra Rare, TOP QUALITY Parotodus benedeni, the False Mako, tooth from Pyramid Hill, Kern County, California. This tooth has a nice tan colored enamel and a very massive root. The crown enamel has good luster and sharp edges. High quality enamel. Note - the right root end was professionally repaired. It is difficult to see any repair. An EXTRA LARGE, High Quality Ankylosaurus osteoderm (bony armor plate) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. An August Fossil of the Month. Ankylosaurus and Denversaurus, a Nodosaur, were the two Ankylosaurs present in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek Formations.  A complete body osteoderm plate from an adult Ankylosaurus. The bone is excellent quality with excellent color / patina. Some natural crack. No restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Lance Creek Fm., Niobrara Co., Wyoming. Our July FOTM week 2 offering - an ULTRA RARE, EXTRA LARGE copper red colored Chubutensis tooth - an upper jaw anterior position. A monster sized 3-3/4" Chubutensis tooth. This is a natural matrix specimen sitting with many whale bones in the original Round Mountain Silt matrix block. The large whale bone at base is 5-3/4" x 3".
