An October Fossil of the Month.  The Phareodus was a carnivorous fish with large pointed teeth and a long pectoral fin. This piece is from the 18 Inch Layer which is extremely hard and difficult to prepare. It also provides the most detailed, highly preserved fossils. Exceptional preservation and preparation. An ultra rare, ~5" GEM Incredibly Deep Red North Carolina Carcharocles megalodon, upper jaw Principal Anterior tooth from the copper-red site. It has an incredible deep red colored crown. Exceptional color! Note - you rarely see a copper-red Megalodon shark tooth that has a top quality crown, root and serrations - a top .1% tooth from this site! This is one of the finest big Megs from this site and I would say the finest deep red colored big Meg tooth from this site! This is also one of the earliest Megs coming from the copper-red site. A Top Quality, 5-5/16" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - upper jaw tooth. This Megalodon has an incredible tan colored crown with an excellent brown bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Exceptional color!  The serrations are razor sharp with an unique pathologic tip. Tip has a slight twist and serrations were not formed. Very strange. The root is an excellent tan color and extra wide (4-5/8") with typical hydration cracks and absolutely complete.
