An ultra rare, Thalassocnus, a Swimming Sloth, manus (hand) claw from the Bahia Inglesia Formation, Copiapo, Chile. A May Fossil of the Month. This sloth lived on the west coast of So. America during the late Miocene age. This claw is a near complete with minor erosion along the upper edge and back end. Both areas have minor restoration. Fantastic color and preservation. Authenticity guaranteed. I have not seen a swimming sloth claw for sale before. This is all of the sloth material that I have from 15 years ago! A rare collector's claw. A TOP QUALITY, Lee Creek Otodus chubutensis, a O. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). Note the crown exhibits cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge and the root ends also show grooves where the teeth interlocked. These are characteristic traits of the Lee Creek early Meg - Otodus chubutensis. A gorgeous blue & tan colored crown with a brown bourlette. Great serrations. The root is brown colored with a couple of small dings. Highest quality enamel! Fantastic color! No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.
